Surf Development Company Board of Directors consists of six community members from throughout the County of Santa Barbara; a retired banker, a community liaison, an advocate for victims of domestic violence, a retired public administrator and a social justice coordinator (there is currently one vacancy on the Board).
BOARD PRESIDENT
Raymond F. Down has lived and worked in the Lompoc Valley for over 50 years. His entire career was in the Financial Services industry, primarily commercial banking. He and his wife Alice raised their family in Lompoc and have been involved with many community organizations. Ray has been involved with several City of Lompoc advisory commissions and has been and elected member of the Lompoc Hospital District’s Board of Trustees since 1973. Ray has been a member of the Surf Development Company Board since its inception in 1988.
BOARD VICE-PRESIDENT
Mark Paul has lived and worked in Santa Barbara County for more than 33 years. As a CPA, he has worked in various government agencies along with establishment of various companies. He has held board positions in various non-profits and credit unions. Mark lives with his wife June and has three sons which have graduated from college and out on their own. He also volunteers with AARP Tax-Aide to provide free tax services for seniors and low-income taxpayers. Mark has served on the Surf Development Company Board since 2017.
